It is where the young child gains their first learning experiences, where a sense of identity is developed, it is where long-term dreams and aspirations are formed and it is also where modeling of a work ethic first occurs for them." -Graham Young, president of the Secondary Principals Association, 3 April 2006

Our trip to Okiwi Bay

We meet up with Uncle James for a long weekend in Okiwi Bay on Feb 2nd (2008) Dad and Uncle James did alot of fishing and brought us back some yummy scollops. As you can see my hair is now long enough that it can curl into ringlets it is very fine still though, I loved this swing and swings are one of my favourite things to play on at the moment!

Uncle James Fire Truck and CHCH trip

Great grandma sharing her chocolate!

Almost two!

Hi everyone,
Oh my gosh I am so embarrassed at my poor effort to keep you all updated! Time really does run away with you when you have a toddler! It is only a month now till Lovinia turns 2 and she has really had a blast this year, she will soon be a big sister (Early June) and she is really looking forward to her baby arriving! She still has not cut her eye teeth or her 2 yr old molars… but she is bright for everything else. She loves books (I have never seen anything like it!) she adores the company of other children and will happily share her food (even when you don’t want it!) she is in the process of toilet training although I am struggling a little with the up down stairs every half an hour and so progress is slow, not that I mind anyway. Lovinia loves Fire trucks! She took a liking to them when we were in Christchurch last which was at Christmas and she got to ride in Uncle James fire truck (check out the photo’s) ever since then she talks about fire trucks and Uncle James whenever we go past something that even slightly resembles a fire truck like a red car! Or sometime we don’t have to go past anything and she’ll start talking about fire trucks. Go the fire trucks! She also likes watching big trucks. We went to Orana Park in Christchurch also and she watched the lions get fed and the monkeys and lots of other animals, her favourite animal at the moment is penguins which she pronounces bing bings, it is very cute. She loves to dance and every Sunday at church she dances around with her hands in the air worshiping Jesus! Then after a few songs the atmosphere is so full of the Holy Spirit she lies down on the floor and goes to sleep, I have never seen anything like it! She loves to say her prayers at night and loves ‘Jesus stories’. I hope that this gives you a bit of an incite as to how she is doing and I will try to update a bit more frequently, please feel free to pester me so as to remind me how long its been!
We love you all and hope you have a great Easter.
Love Lovinia, Hollie and Daniel.
xoxo

Birthday pressie pix

Hi everyone!

Well again I have to apologise for the long intermission! I can’t believe my first year is all over… and so soon! I have just cut my first top tooth (right front top) and have two at the bottom. I have more on the way very soon. I have been very busy this year so far, as you can see I have had my first real swimming lessons. I love swimming; I’m going to be a real winner in the pool when I grow big. I can say “duck, pussy cat, water, oh no, mum, dad, baby, yeay, nan (banana) and I can sign more, up, yeay and finished. My favourite foods are, blue berries, banana, egg, and whatever mum and dad are eating. I spent my first night away from home on Friday the 20th April so I am all grown up! I had a wonderful 1st birthday party (as you can see in the pictures) I really miss my Granny and she has brought me some beautiful clothes from her trip overseas, I can’t wait to wear them all! My mummy is working very hard so she can bring me to visit my granny and great grandma Vilmah she loves you so very much. Thank you to everyone who sent me birthday gifts, I got some truly amazing things. Mummy has promised to update my site more often this year so keep an eye on this spot.

Love you all,

Overdue update

Sorry everyone I know it’s been too long! I’m 7 ½ months now and I’m crawling and standing and talking (noises) although I do say mamamama and dadadada and babababa and just lots of babble. I still have no teeth! And I have my own house! Well I think its mine anyway. At 5 months I weighed 7.25kilos but I’m not sure what I weigh now I think I’m still less than 8 kilos however. I have had my first ear infection and tonsillitis (nasty) but am over that now. I came 2nd in the smartepants photo competition Mum, Dad, Nan, Koru and Gran were all so proud. I really miss Gran in Christchurch and I wish we could visit more. I loved meeting Charlie (my new second cousin) check out all the updated photos and I promise I’ll do my best to be more on to it.

Love to everyone

catch up (see date above)

Well I am now officially 10 weeks old and it’s all gone so fast! I have found my hands this week, although I have to really concentrate to get them to work. I love my toys I can’t help staring at them and smiling! I have just grown out of a whole heap of clothes, and mum says I’m long and that’s why, I think she’s trying not to hurt my feelings! I’ve been to Wellington and met my great Grandma Pluck and also squeezed in a week in Christchurch again with mum, but she was really sick so she didn’t get to do all the things she planned to do. I am now sleeping 10 hours a night, I started sleeping 8 hours at 5 ½ weeks a week and a half later I stretched it out to 10 and have stayed there ever since (mum’s milk is great!). I go to MOPS (mothers of pre-schoolers) every Thursday morning and most weeks have a coffee group either with mum’s aqua-natal buddies or her anti-natal buddies sometimes with both.

scenery

Mum and Dad have been taking me around to lots of open homes every weekend which has been fun. Meanwhile, I don't mind waiting until a good one comes up...

next steps

The name says it all:
Jolly Jumper
I took to it straight away...

I have tamed the beast

Woah, this is a bit too much water Mum!

I think I can do it
They do say,
"Do something everyday that scares ya"

Well, if she can do it WITH her babies
Then I certainly can
